The ambition of the Netherlands is to turn the country into a world leader in the field of integrated photonics, technology used to develop photonics chips (Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC). This will also contribute to the European Union ambition to make photonics a top priority in its effort to make Europe less dependent on chips from other parts of the world.
PhotonDelta will financially support startups and scaleups, attract and train talent, and expand existing production. By 2030, PhotonDelta aims to have grown into an ecosystem with hundreds of companies, customers around the world and a production capacity of over 100,000 wafers per year.
